Seems like a huge haul for the Halos. Am I wrong in thinking this?

    Re: Trumbo traded to D'Backs

Trumbo being an OF only in Arizona hurts his value. At least based on the data, he was really good at 1B defensively and not so hot in the OF.
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

The hevaily rumored three-team trade between the Angels, Diamondbacks and White Sox has been completed, a source tells Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic. Mark Trumbo and a pair of players to be named later will head to the Diamondbacks, Adam Eaton will join the White Sox and Hector Santiago and Tyler Skaggs are headed to the Angels (Twitter links).

I would have to concur. I can't believe Trumbo had that much value. Glad we didn't pay that price.

BTW, does this diminish the chances of Choo going to the D'Backs? I am still holding out hope that Choo ends up in Cincinnati for a reasonable price.

Alejandro De Aza could be a possible fit in CF now. I think he's exactly what the Reds need but for how much?

He'd be a nice stopgap, but I don't think you can trade major league talent for him. If you can trade a pair of decent prospects with real upside but who aren't top 5 types, say Nick Travieso and Gabriel Rosa, I'd be up for that.

I realize that's probably not close to enough given that De Aza given that he's had 3 solid years and has 2 years of control. And I realize most RedsZoners would probably say that's overpaying, given how we think about our prospects.

But either way, I'm not keen on picking up a 2-3 win player poised to make a decent chunk of change in arbitration ($4-5M) when when there's a reasonable chance Hamilton can provide that production himself.

I think it's a good deal for everybody but Arizona.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

So, Choo isn't going to Arizona. Who's left, Texas?

Does anyone else think this is a horrendous deal for the DBacks?

I think RH power hitters are in hot demand this offseason.

That may be, but they gave up WAY too much to get a mediocre one.

Texas has been saying similar things to the Reds about Choo -- that he is "too expensive." Starting to see a pattern here.
