His agent will probably mention that when he is trying to get him a contract somewhere next year. His "veteran presence" turned the Phils season around.

Narron didn't use him correctly here. Check my signature out and Rick White explains it perfectly right there. It's all Narron's fault for not using him "the way I needed to be pitched."

It's really, reaLLY, REALLY hard to believe that Rick White has been on two teams this year and they are both that many games over .500 with him on it. My brain cannot comprehend how that is possible.

... only use as a last resort, Narron wasn't smart enough for that.

White sucked with the Reds and has sucked only a little less with the Phillies. He is a bad pitcher and always has been, subject to the volatility of a middle reliever with not very good stuff.. The difference is he has given up 3 less HRs in a few more innings with the Phillies.

The problem wasn't the way that Narron used him. It was that he used him at all. Maybe that's what he meant.

Sounds a lot like Ryan Franklin.

"Pitching to contact" clearly didn't work for Mr. White.

    Re: Rick White

I was in his corner when he said that he had always dreamed of pitching for the Reds and now he was p*ssing away his dream. I was really hoping he'd turn it around after he stopped commuting from Springfield every day. Then after he left and made the "they didn’t pitch me the way I needed to be pitched" comment and he lost me.
