Orlando Cabrera signed with Cleveland. Kinda disappointed the Reds didn't bring him back, I think he was a good leader for this team. Hopefully Renteria will be an upgrade.

Good to hear that he landed somewhere. I really liked him, even if he wasn't that productive anymore. He seemed like a nice guy that the other players learned a lot from. I wish him the best in Cleveland... except for the Ohio Cup.

Yeah, i think Cabrera took a lot of crap, but I liked having him on the team. Wish we could have had him a few season before when he was still at top of his game.

The report is that they will ask him to move to 2B. He has a good chance to start there and be pretty good.

Cabrera
494 AB's
hit .263
64 runs
4 HR
42 RBI
11 SB
Janish
200 AB's
hit .260
23 runs
5 HR
25 RBI
1 SB
This isn't factoring in leadership qualities Cabrera has that Janish doesn't. If those kinds of numbers clearly makes Janish twice the player, I'd like to see the math classes you took. Not to mention Janish's numbers would likely go down if he had 494 AB's in my opinion, and I feel its a fair one.

OCab was probably below average in terms of production, both offensively and defensively. I agree. It was hard to watch him defensively at times.
But I think he had a strong impact on Phillips' growth last season, in fact, Phillips has said just that.
I am glad Janish is taking over, and I think Renteria will be a fine replacement for OCab, but I am glad for him, when what appears to be a good team player and well liked individual finds a job.

I watched just about every game, in fact i'd be willing to bet I watched more games than you did. Regardless if watching games is your measuring stick, don't you think "Duhsty" saw him and Janish compete more than either one of us?
I didn't think Cabrera was terrible at all, not to mention he was a leader on the team according to every player I ever heard talk about him. I seem to remember a quote from Joey Votto when Cabrera was injured towards the end of the season that was stating anyone who didn't think Cabrera being out was a big loss for the team wasn't in the clubhouse, and didn't know very much about baseball.
He's a bum with a dirty helmet. Team is better off without him.
I wish him well as he was a great leader that taught the team to win.
I also wish he would have sat out game 3 of the NLDS though.
