The whole "would have had, wouldn't have had it" is nonsense. No one knows how Heisey would have been stationed, if by having to play in more shallow he would not have been able to get to that ball, or any thing of the sort.
As I said, it's as fruitless as watching a Stubbs AB and saying Heisey would have gotten a hit.

Stubbs has made a number of fantastic plays. As a CF, he has an excellent arm, and gets pretty good breaks on every ball.

He has two main problems, 1) Balls directly over his head, and 2) Balls near the wall. I'm pretty sure these can be fixed as he continues to grow both offensively and defensively.

One thing is for sure, nothing appeals more to a RZ poster than a guy sitting on the bench.

Complete hogwash. I'd go outside the organization for a plus CF who is not as offensively challenged.

That's a lot easier said than done.

Personally I'd stick with Stubbs / Heisey and save my bullets to figure out what to do about SS and pitching for next season.

Not really, unless said "bench player" is the reigning minor league player of the year in the organization and has clearly played better than said "starting player" all season.

I'm definitely not one of these "the backup quarterback is the most-popular guy in town" guys. However, if you want to debate the merits of Stubbs v Heisey, I'll be here all week.

Not really. I like Heisey but I wouldn't bench Stubbs for him. The Reds need to continue to develop Stubbs IMO as I believe that the Reds may well go into next year with an OF of Heisey/Stubbs/Bruce and Heisey seems to be adapting to playing PT pretty well. I would however give Heisey more time in LF against RHP and spot him in CF against tough RHP.

I'm 0 - 2 on making game threads. I'm retiring for the season.

BTW, Phils manager Charlie Manuel was suspended 1 game, and fined an undisclosed amount, for his "aggressive arguing" and (what it's really for) "inappropriate contact" with home plate ump CB Bucknor in the 10th inning of this game.
