    One Target

IF the Reds had any lick of sense they would target 1 guy in the free agency class. Now wise members discuss who that target would be.
    2006 Redzone mock Draftee's- 1(st) Daniel Bard(redsox), 1(st sup)( Jordan Walden (Angels), 2(nd) rd.- Zach Britton(Orioles), 3(rd) Blair Erickson(Cardinals), 3(rd) Tim Norton( Yankees),(cuz its a Tim Hortons thing

    Miguel Tejada.

Reds have no in-house candidates for shortstop other than Janish. Tejada would be a huge boost offensively at that position. Janish can take over in close games for defense.

Left field is more easily handled from the in house candidates.

i'm excluding guys like Holliday and Bay who are way out of the price range.

Given payroll constraints I'd say Wang. 1 year ML deal with low guarantee but good incentives.

Tejeda would make sense if we could get him for only one year and we could afford him. So, more realistically... Wang could be a good pickup.

Mike Cameron. Likely the best value/buck on the FA market.

Let's see, our centerfield options are Stubbs, Dickerson, Taveras (gulp), and maybe Heisey. So you pick another (much more expensive) centerfielder? (scratches his head)

That would work. I'm just afraid that he, and possibly Wang, will be too expensive.

I can hop on that bandwagon. Duchscherer is in demand, so we'd probably have to offer him at least a two-year deal averaging between $4-$6 million per season. But with Duchscherer joining the rotation, we could comfortably trade either Harang or Arroyo.

Kelly Johnson, controversial choice though it might be. It would enable the Reds to move Phillips to shortstop.

If Money is no object, John Lackey.

Realistically, Wang or Adam LaRoche with Votto in LF.
