Astros now up 9-3 on the Pirates. Even their bullpen might be able to hold that lead.

Trust me, I hope I'm dead wrong.

Very true. He had two terrific at-bats in the first few innings.

Have you ever had a cramp before? He was stretching his leg out on the stairs. Looked like an obvious cramp.

Hanigan doubles. 2nd of the game.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

But I thought his line swing was very good and he could drive the ball to all fields and In a big park like SF...with all that space...I thought he could do very well hitting in that park. He also has been a good defensive player. The Giants did not need the pitching. The Royals did. Too bad it did not work out for both. I like the Royals.
I never saw him play for the Royals or much of his year with the Braves either. I was mostly going by seeing him play as a semi-regular outfielder with the Yankees when I lived in NJ. Kinda reminded me of Heisey as a guy who played best in a limited-type role, and I thought he got hyped up mostly because of the Yankee hype machine. Guess I underestimated him because he is, in fact, a hitting machine.

This. I hope/think Walt is smart enough to know that as well.

Did the PBP announcers just die? LOL. Total silence from the booth for quite a while.
