It would be impossible to make that trade. You would be trading 4 guys on the 40 man roster for 1. No way a deal like that ever goes down.

Dayton is tied at 1. Byron Wiley has a solo HR.

Lyncburg trailing 1-0 in the first after a chopped single, steal where the throw goes into the outfield and a pop up that just missed Rojas's glove (the announcer wasn't sure if it was going to be an error or not - it wasn't).

Dayton takes a lead on a Frank Pfister double that plates a run.

So outside of the 40 man issue (which I forgot about regarding Alonso), do you think the talent balance of the trade is equal?

Not really. Alonso is the only 'every day guy' in the trade on the Reds side. Posey is thought of higher and plays defense at a premium position.

I'm with you there as far as the premium position suggestion... That being said, we did just see a team get rid of Carlos Santana for a 1/2 season of Casey Blake... So it's not absurd...

Maloney would be an instant upgrade over Wellenmyer today, and could probably stick long-term and have a decent career as a 3/4 arm in SF (favorable ballpark)...
Francisco and Alonso gives them a chance to develop 2 decent bats, and they really don't have anything in the way of 1b or OF prospects IIRC... I could also see them viewing Francisco as being comparable potentially to Sandoval...
Finally, it's not like Hanigan is a worthless catcher... He's solid defensively, and cheap.

At the end of the day though, only Alonso looks to be a good bet to play every day (though I think Hanigan could, I don't know if he is ever going to get that chance for some reason).

At their current rate... are you sure Posey is ever gonna get that chance? lol... Couldn't believe how they handled him last season...

Brad Boxberger has allowed 3 unearned runs in the first 3 innings. Lynchburg trails 3-2 in the 4th.

Henry Rodriguez with a HR (3) gives Dayton a 5-1 lead.

    Lynchburg is trailing 4-2.
