    Volquez vs. Myers (6/4/08)

Alright, we need a change of luck. Everyone go to the bottom left corner of your screen, and change your background to Reds away, since we are on the road. I think this is going to bring us to victory.

There is a lot of pressure on the young Volquez to be our "stopper". Hopefully he steps up huge tomorrow and we get the W because the Phillies have Hamels going Thursday.

With the lineup Dusty's going to run out there tonight, we're going to need a hell of an outing from Edinson to keep this one tight.

I agree; getting swept in this series would be abominable and with Hamels going against Homer tomorrow...

The art of losing isn't hard to master.

Volquez needs to continue his all star pace. No one wants to get swept. I wonder if Griffey plays at all tonight?

As a sidenote, I mentioned this briefly but I followed up with mlb.com this morning. Can you believe that Southern TN is blacked out from Reds games? Would you believe parts of North Carolina are as well? I didn't believe it either but its true.

I signed up for their free trial just so I can get the 700WLW feed while I am away, but I had no idea MLB's blackout rules were that ridiculous.

    Re: Volquez vs. Myers (6/4/08)

    We win tonight.

Figures when griffey is hurt we face couple pitchers he does well against.

Hopefully edwin is starting to climb out and brings some runs to the board tonight.

With freel/griffey hurt now were hurting for KEPP.

My hopeful prediction for the line-up tonight

    Hairston
    Bruce
    Dunn
    BP
    EE
    Votto
    bako
    Hopper/janish
    Volquez

This way Phillips wont have to worry about killing any rallies again tonight batting after Bruce. And teams will have to pitch to bruce or face Dunn and phillips coming up after him.

We need a win tonight desperately.

I like that lineup BG, but you know that either Patterson or Janish is going to be in the one or two spot, if Griffey doesn't play, and you can take that to the bank.

Ugh. I thought we were past the Patterson era. Is there any doubt he starts and leads off tonight with a righty on the hill?

    Re: Volquez vs. Myers (6/4/08)

If before the series started you would have told me the Phillies would score a total of 8 runs in the first two games and we would be matched up against Kendrick and Eaton I would have said the WORST we do is 2-2 in this series. Now its looking like 1-3 is likely. VERY disappointing.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that Patterson goes 2-4 with a run scored.

Then he will be starting over Bruce. It is in the best interest of this team to root for Patterson to strike out in every at bat.
