Okay, he needs to improve his catching technique, or else a move to LF will be necessary.

    Yikes, quite the statement.

The Astros switched Biggio because catching often results in injuries which might damage Biggio's physical abilities, including speed in his case.

Again, if the Reds ever shell out big bucks for Mesoraco's power, we'll see what they do with him defensively.

Scooping a short hop from 300 feet is really hard. Bruce needs to either get it there on the fly or give it a real hop. A short hop, especially to the backhand has very low odds of success

I'm wondering if Choo would have caught that.

Hard to imagine how bad Homer's year would be this year if he wasn't pitching in front of the Reds defense.

Mesoraco may have "quite good" catching skills, I guess, but catching the ball cleanly is not one of them. He has never been very good at catching and holding onto the ball.

    Imo no way
there's nothing like bowling a 300 game! 13 now and retired.

Ricky henderson has a higher OBP than C. patterson and he's retired. C. Trent 6-14-2008

No, and as much as I loved Choo he was a terrible CF'er, which was not so much his fault as it was the management's.
