I agree with WOY's assessment, particular the point that he's a full run at this point, not how he'd look, I think, if he was diving back to a base. I'm curious about the angle of the base. Were the bases anchored in 1975? I'm thinking they were, so the bag's angle looks a tiny bit off. One commenter did note that Rose went from first to third twice in the August 27th game.

So here's my take on a Rose slide that I did way back when.

Not this has anything to do with this note, I just thought it was pretty funny. Pete does Elvis.

She used to wake me up with coffee ever morning

What's amazing is the players back then were thin and non muscular. No way they were on Roids. Joe behind Pete looks like a high school kid.

I remember those iron on decal type of shirts well. After a few washings it would peel and faded.

Come to think of it, you never did see Elvis and Pete together....that explains it! They are the same guy!

For those of you that were adults in the 1970's (I'm looking at YOU Dave), what the hell were you thinking?

I had bad clothes back then, but I was born in 73, so I didn't have much choice in the matter.

Knowing Pete, he was probably paid to wear every single article of clothing he wore.

I owned this shirt as a kid. It is spectacular that Pete wore his own shirt. Can you imagine Wayne Gretzky wearing a shirt with a picture of Wayne Gretzky on it? Michael Jordan with a picture of Michael Jordan on it?

Starting now, I'm going to stock my drawers with t-shirts with my own picture on the front.

Who's the dude with the 'fro behind Joe? Manny Sarmiento?

My family recently got a picture of us on t-shirts. My sister and I are the only ones who wear them out regularly.

I saw it and thought the exact same thing.

I just couldn't find a tasteful way of saying it.
