Redzone Minor League Prospect Ranking #19

Kevin Franklin ran off with vote #18 so we're on to our 19th pick.

I think I may be picking a battle to fight for a while here, but I am going with Amir Garrett. He is most certainly raw, but a lefty that can hit 97 and throw a breaking ball? Yeah, it's time.

I like Amir too but will go with Partch for the arm and proximity.

I'll jump on the Garrett bandwagon. His ceiling is higher than everyone else on this list. Unfortunately is floor is about as low as anyone else as well. At this point I'm probably just voting for highest ceiling from here on out. A laMarre could be a 5th OF now but his ceiling is a 4th (more than likely). I'm looking for any chance at a superstar before I settle.

Garrett has the highest upside of anyone left on the list - I'd pick him if I got the sense he was serious about baseball. Right now I feel like he plays baseball to get that money so he can be the rich college basketball player...

Well college basketball won't be an option forever. Pro basketball probably won't ever be an option, even in Europe (unless he drastically takes steps forward with his production he has shown thus far).

I'm also not sure he has the highest ceiling left. Aquino and Kivel belong in that conversation with him.

Not to mention Cory Thompson, Ty Boyles and Jacob Constante.

That said, I'm still on Waldrop.

I don't think those guys are in the same group in terms of pure upside.

Kevin Garcia needs to join the list. John Sickels just ranked him 19th in the Reds' system.

I'm still a Mahle man (Sickels ranked him 20th). Projectability and command make for a tasty prospect.
    I'm not a system player. I am a system.

Agreed on Garcia. I have him ranked rather soon and well ahead of half the guys listed here.

Re: Redzone Minor League Prospect Ranking #19

Chad Jones the LSU star picked last year. Looked good in Billings. Age can be somewhat discounted and he is likely a reliever, lefty – should move quickly if there is anything real there, but his back story is gripping.
