Bruce leads off the bottom of the 5th with a single. Rolen follows with a four pitch walk. Two on, none out for Mesoraco. Need to get some runs here.

Mesoraco hasn't had an RBI since July 7.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

Mesoraco lined out to RF, Bruce to 3rd. Heisey pinch hit single makes it 5-2. First and second, one out for Stubbs.

Wilson Valdez makes me miss Paul Janish.

    5-2 Cubs after 5.

Real black hole when Stubbs is followed by Valdez.

Gotta protect. Gameday had it right on the zone....you just can't go up there and look at two strikes down the middle and then not protect.

Stubbs shouldn't be counted on as a black hole against a lefty, though. He has been thus far tonight, but normally I'd feel good about him against LHP.

I think our Reds have no intention of winning this game, everyone looks sloppy and lethargic

I hereby retract my previous comment. The Reds will not win this game.

Yeah, I think we can just about pack this one in.
