    A quick reminder about Colorado...

    From Jim Day on twitter:

In the last four years the Rockie are 24-8 against the Reds. Including 18 of the last 23 games. Oof! That's pretty bad. The Rockies are rarely a team to get excited about, but they've simply destroyed us recently. Take this series with a grain of salt no matter how it goes. If the Reds win two out of three, good...maybe we've finally figured them out. If we lose two out of three or get swept, don't take it as an indicator of the Reds entering a slump.

And also keep in mind that after these three games we go into June...our schedule is: @PIT, @HOU, PIT, DET, CLE, @NYM, @CLE, MIN, MIL, @SF.

The Cardinals schedule in June is also a cakewalk. Unless either team implodes in June, I don't think the race for the division will be over...but if the Cards falter with injuries and bad games, we could really stretch out lead.

    Don't Panic! Go Redlegs!

The Rockies definitely own us over the past few years. We have to find a way to take the last two and still win this series. Then we have the Pirates, who dominated us last year. These teams might be below .500, but history tells us that means nothing. We have to bring our 'A' game every night, because some teams just have that confidence mojo against us. We need to change that tomorrow and Sunday, and beyond.

while that record is pretty sad it is a new season and with every new season comes new players and the Rockies are one of the worst teams in the NL. No excuses that we shouldn't win 2 of 3.

I'm not sure the point to take from the OP is that it's okay to lose. The facts are that winning 7 games in a row is a tough thing to do, and this is a team that the Reds have struggled against historically - big time.

Regardless of the next two games, the Reds are playing good baseball. I'll take a four game sweep over ATL and a series win @ NYY if it means another hiccup against the Rockies. I fully expect to take these next two games, but another loss in the series isn't enough for anyone to be proclaiming "2011 all over again."

There's a lot of bad teams to beat up on in the weeks ahead.

I'm just saying one three game series against the Rockies is no big deal in the scope of things. They own the Reds over recent history. How they perform against Colorado isn't a gauge of their future performance.

Although the Reds did destroy them today. Hopefully the same happens tomorrow and we've broken out of our Colorado slump.

We took two of three from a team that has owned us the last few years. That's huge. Now we need to get some payback on the Pirates, who killed us last year.
