Earlier we discussed leavng a pitcher in to play another position so he can come back to pitch...along those same lines, how come you never see players switch positions based on situation???....as an example runner on first, nobody out, pitcher with .092 lifetime average at the plate...why not have BP and Votto switch postions........BP can charge a bunt faster than votto can, and then you have votto taking the throw at first if that's where you have to go. If they wanna have pitcher hit away, so much hte better.
The Reds might now be a great example bc BP and Votto are both gold glove calber....but for a team with an awful first baseman, why not????
