How to stretch out a shrunken sweater

Appealing to the wisdom of the board here. My sweater was improperly dried and consequently shrunk.(shrank?) It's not in too bad of shape as it was probably a little bit big on me before, but now is just a tad too tight and short. Is there a good way to stretch this out or am I resigned to this fate?

I've always heard you should get the sweater wet, then gently stretch it out a bit, and let it air dry. Good luck!

A lot of my clothes have shrunk. That's why I've been going to the gym more.

Yes, that would help too. I told my friend last night I was commemorating the IU game by wearing a sweater that looked it was struggling to get over my stomach like a former coach.

Reminds me of that Seinfeld episode "The Apology" where James Spader said George's huge head would stretch out his sweater. LOL
