Again, so as to not be mistaken nor misquoted nor misunderstood-- Mesoraco might be a great offensive catcher at an 800 OPS, but would likely be below average at any other position he might be able to play defensively.
Therefore, having he or Grandal as anything more than a back-up at another spot would be a poor idea. IMO.
That would make two prospects we disagree on, doug-- Alonso and Mesoraco. Alonso, you profile as a 900 OPS slugger and Mesoraco an 850 OPS guy.
Would that be their beginning OPS in Cincinnati, peak year(s), or career?
