Obvioulsy Hariston will be coming up soon from his rehab but what about letting Dickerson play some center and bat lead off to see what he has. Maybe he's our leadoff hitter and centerfielder for next year.

Not if the return features Brian Anderson, aka Chris Dickerson's twin brother.
With the team going nowhere, might as well let him have his cup of coffee and see what happens.
Makes sense to send down coffey and bring up dickerson for the weekend.
Dickerson has no future whatsoever as a big league player. He can barely cut it in AAA.
So the answer should be no.
Are you a Major League Scout? What makes you think he has no future with the Reds? He's actually having a pretty good year with Louisville and has been hot lately. I think he deserves a cup of coffee this year to see what he's got. It can't hurt we are going nowhere this year.
I would much rather see Dickerson get the occasional start over Patterson but Hairston needs to be in CF if he can come back to where he was.
If Corey Patterson is still getting a chance why not give the job to Dickerson.... cant do any worse than Patterson, what a joke
According to Jocketty, they will bring back Hairston early. From Fay
"We'll probably bring Jerry Hairston Jr. back a day early. We'll play him in center with Jay Bruce in right and Dunn in left. It will give us a chance to see how that outfield works and evaluate for the future."
This is good news to those who want the Reds to re-sign Dunn.
Dickerson's got tools...but not a leadoff man in the majors. Would be an exciting 7-8 hitter, especially with his power potential. Guy should be given a shot.
DFA Corey Patterson!
Chris Dickerson would strike out at an Adam Dunn rate (180/yr) against major league pitching. However, he wouldn't hit half the HR's Dunn does, and would probably walk less than a quarter of what AD does.
He's fast, he's a good defender, he's got some pop. He's never going to be anything other than a reserve OFer.
We can use a good reserve outfielder... particularly one with those qualities.
I understand what you're saying, but with the previous description, it seems like we have a guy like that named Corey Patterson.
I don't agree with the description. Dickerson is very fast, with an average-good arm. He plays almost gold glove defense. I think he would hit 25 homeruns given everyday playing time. Also, I think he would steal you 30 bases in a given year.
Sure, but I barely consider Corey to be a Red except on those days that Dusty has one of his spells and puts him in the lineup, and bats him leadoff no less.
Corey is so lost that for a half minute I almost forgot he was even on the team. Which everyone should at least try. It can only lead to an overall happier state of mind.
But what I really meant was that a guy with those qualities should at least be given a look, and an opportunity as a reserve outfielder rather than wasting away at Triple A. If nothing else he can be, hopefully, a more productive version of Patterson.
