No way. Guy has been terrible for a few years and he doesn't have velocity anymore. If he could play SS maybe.

I don't know the extent of his injuries, was just wondering if a minor league contract while working with Cincy's pitching coaches in the minors could get this guy going again. I'm thinking LOW risk with a potential high reward....can he get his velocity back?

BUT, he has 7 million left on his contract this year, maybe if we sign him next year. But as of right now its high risk, ? reward.

The Reds would only be responsible for a prorated portion of the league minimum, not the entire 7 million.

We've already got a guy similar to him in Triple-A. His name is Dontrelle Willis.

not even close. Kazmir allowed 29 ER in 15 IP in AAA. Willis has been very good in AAA this season. Think before you type please.

I'm thinking what he meant was "Low Risk High Reward" guy.

I will agree with you on that. I would take a flier on him but from what I have read, his work ethic is his main problem.

    1. He has awesome stuff!
    2. He is a 2nd half pitcher.
    3. You never know - worth a pick-up (between him and Dontrelle - I would say that there is a 33% chance that one of them can resurrect their career.)

If he is cheap it might be worth taking him so the Cardinals and Duncan don't get the opportunity to get him back on track.

I wouldn't mind taking a flier on him, but, that's really failed logic. You really shouldn't take a player just because you are afraid of what the competition is thinking. Otherwise you end up with a bunch of players that you really don't have room or playing time for.
