He has been so consistent I have to believe he will recover, unless he has some injury beyond what we know.
    So is Votto's

If Bruce and Votto were having average years, with Frazier and Mesoraco raking like they are, the Reds offense would be OK.

Bruce is an anomaly though in that within what appears to be consistent seasons b/w 2010-2013 are months of continual peaks and valleys. His propensity in the past to fall into prolonged slumps is worrisome when considering this season long funk in '14.

Let's not anymore. It's an exercise in futility. Guy is so deep in his own mind he might as well be Syd Barrett. He is getting pitches to hit that do not force him to hit into the shift....he is still trying to pull them.

That is not making adjustments. That is being stubborn and he might wake up wondering what happened to his career sooner than later.

I would say the frustration is getting to him. And Carlos Gomez....this is how it's done.

The funny thing about this to me is that you know there is a significant portion of the fanbase that sees that and thinks "I like it! It shows he cares!" I just see that and think "Wow, what a fool, he is beyond awful right now."

Awful yes, I wouldn't say he is a fool tho. Why would you?

Personally, I like it that he waits for "some" privacy before venting instead of doing it in the middle of the stadium. It feels like showboating or grandstanding then.

I don't mean as a human being, but for taking a hard piece of wood and breaking it over his surgically repaired knee? Yes, I do think he was a fool for doing that.

No no. Chuckie would tell you that is all just one extension of his knee and any attempt to say otherwise is a coverup by the Reds quack surgeon.

Either way, that is the leg he injured 2 months ago. People seem to like when players break bats over their thigh. I just see a grown man acting like a baby.

Let's take a look at his OPS by month:

    Mar/April 736
    May 393
    June 891
    July 488

Following this pattern he should have an OPS of 1046 in August and an OPS of 583 in September.
