Winker, Sanchez and Rosa all have doubles, and Billings leads 7-1 after six.

Jesse Winker.... all that kid does is freaking hit. The pre-draft scouting reports all said he was an advanced hitter, but this advanced? Unreal.

Yeah, pretty excited about Winker. Looking like an incredibly-good pick.

Billy singles, steals (102) and scores on Bowe's single. Bakersfield leads 1-0 in the third behind Tanner Robles.

I still maintain that Theo Bowe ought to be buying lottery tickets in Bakersfield every single day. There is something about that place that has done miracles for him. Yeah, his BABIP is incredibly high but I would be out there trying to push that luck as long as I could.

For Billings, Gelalich and Mejias-Brean, in their debuts, are each 0-2 with a walk.

Ty Washington's single in the eighth avoids the no-hitter for the AZL Reds. They still trail 4-2.

Doug, do you have the feeling that Winker could be one of those guys that move through the minors a little faster than the average prospect? To maybe be an option in left sometime in 2014?

Just the fact that he started in Billings out of high school says something about his polish. Let alone the fact that he's put up a .550OBP and a 1/1 K:BB ratio so far.

    Robles put up a terrific first start in Bakersfield: 6 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 6 K.

    Lutz has a HR. Hamilton's 2-3 with a 2B. Blaze lead 3-0.

The AZL Reds lost 4-2, managing but two hits. Richard McCaffrey pitched three scoreless innings and Joseph Housey finished with one. Avain Rachal worked two walks, making him the offensive star of the night for the Reds.

I was at the Dayton Dragons game today. Yorman Rodriguez was impressive. He drilled three screaming line drives deep into the outfield. Two fell for hits including an opposite field shot over the rightfielder's head and another one was caught by the centerfielder. He also had an infield single where the third baseman tried to barehand a bouncer. Yorman has power, speed and athleticism in spades. I was happy with what I saw from him. He was the lone bright spot for the Dragons in an 11-2 butt-kicking.
