That is what I was thinking. Although could be Rolen does not hit Volstad well.

Rolen's shoulder bothering? I don't mind him sitting 2-3 times a week to ensure playoff health....but he's due to start unless he's 4-27 off the pitcher or something.

It's the Cubs....they'll make us giggle on defense but will make up for it by sucking on offense.

    Reds 9
    Cubs 2

Is it Bruce that is always good in Wrigley?

Chris Volstad is winless in his last 21 starts. Yikes!

I think Stubbs usually does well there.

That stat scares me, the way the Reds are hitting.

Stubbs career line at Wrigley. .291/.356/.557/.913

Bruce's lifetime OPS there is about his average. .840.

Leake pitched a gem there in 2011, until LaHair took him deep late. Leake has one start in Wrigley this year and got shelled. 5.2IP 10H 5ER 1BB 3K.

Yeah....did my own checking. Stubbs does well there.

Did a Reds player have a 3 HR game there?...maybe even 5-7 years ago. Seems like someone went deep 3 times there....maybe Votto? Maybe it was just Stubbs and a 2 HR game.

Nah, that's not the reason. Dusty said he just wanted to get Cairo's bat in the lineup.

Pretty sure that was Stubbs. July 4th, 2010 per baseball-reference.com.

Votto hit three against the Cubs in GABP on May 7th, 2008. One came off of Sean Marshall. One came off of Sean Gallagher (Reds AAA pitcher).

Lol....what a horrible thing to say. How about Rolen play and he can use Cairo's bat? Would that suffice?

I need to make my evening plans. Is this a MUST win?
