Hogwash I say!
Where would he play? I doubt WK or Jocketty would entertain this idea.
Witty signature.
Looks like pure speculation to me.
The Reds don't need or want him.
Go Gators!
Don't flame me for posting this, but I think the Reds have hopefully learned their lesson over the last 8 years about signing big name/dollar players with laundry lists of injuries.
Isn't he about to be dealt to Toronto?
Yes, per the St. Louis paper, Glaus will be in St. Louis today for a physical; Rolen will go Toronto for the same sometime this week.
That said, the post fromt he Cards board is just plain silly. To suggest that Rolen might like to come to Cincinnati because of Kremcheck is funny. Any player can go to any surgeon they want. Players were going to the Dodgers' guy for ages, as well as Andrews down in Birmingham.
Absent either failing their physicals, these guys will be trading places in St. Louis and Toronto.

From a Reds perspective, I like this trade. Rolen is a much more dangerous player both offensively and defensively than Glaus when healthy.
His shoulder is the bigger problem recently. Had surgery in 2005 and then a clean up procedure on it this summer/fall.

Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.
Cedric 3/24/08It's absolutely pathetic that people can't have an opinion from actually watching games and supplementing that with stats. If you voice an opinion that doesn't fit into a black/white box you will get completely misrepresented and basically called a tobacco chewing traditionalist...
Okay so what if this rumor is true... let's have some fun w/ it..
We know that WK isn't a huge EdE fan, and we have Kepp and Freel who are capable at 3rd base in case there's an injury, so maybe the Reds would have interest in Rolen as our RH, RBI, middle of the order guy.
Question is... what's in it for the Blue Jays? Do they want to go younger and EdE? Would be part of something larger .... the Jays also have Rios and Burnett rumored to be on the market that the Reds might have some interest in....
Could EdE be on the way out to someone like the O's who reportedly have interest in him...?
