    Saturday, April 7, 2012, Minor-League Updates

Approaching midnight, and I see no game thread. But the Pensacola game seems worth a notice. Wahoos were down 4-1 until scoring three in the bottom of the seventh. Big hit was a double by catcher Brian Peacock. Then Joel Guzman doubled to start the bottom of the ninth, and with two outs and the winning run on third, Peacock bunted for a walk-off single, 5-4.

Corcino had a shaky start, but Tanner, Freeman and Joseph worked 4.2 innings of shutout, one-hit relief.

Louisville lost 6-4 in spite of a HR by Corky and two more hits (with a 2B) for Janish. The Bats' most effective pitcher was Kanekoa Texeira, 2.2 hitless.

Dayton lost 5-4 in 11. Buckley homered, James Ewing (??) had three hits, and Tanner Robles had an excellent start: 6 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, 7 K. McMyne threw two nice innings of relief.

Bakersfield trails 4-2 in the fourth, and has no hits. Of course, hits are not essential to scoring when Billy Hamilton is in the lineup. First inning, more of the same: walk, steal, wild pitch, ground ball for a run.

Bryson Smith left the game after making an error in the top of the fourth.

Josh Smith did not fare particularly well in his start.

    Lutz still 0 for 2012.
    Tanner Robles with a nice outing 6IP 4H 1ER 0BB 7K.

    Dayton's shortstop hasn't played since 2009.

Frazier already sitting so Negron can play 2B and move Val to 3B? Get a memo down to triple A manager that NO ONE cares what Negron can do ...Frazier needs to play daily.

The Reds clearly care what Negron can do or he wouldn't still be on the 40 man roster.

I know they do....but what good does it do them....unless they feel he could do what Valdez does and save the money on average at best backup INF.

They might think he can be similar to that. He is a good middle infielder on the defensive side, can play third, can play center, has good speed and until last year, had shown some ability with his bat.

Well i do like that. I much rather they spend money on pitchers then middle INF who you can find in the minors and can do the same thing even if he does not have "playoff" and "winning" experience.
