That 3 for 3 is a joke. He should be 2-3. He was credited with a bunt single in his second at bat. The pitcher threw it away. Had the throw been on line, Hamilton was out by 10 feet. Surprised at least one of the other two hits didn't wind up a double. Both little bloopers in "no-mans land" toward center.

Corcino looked really good through 3. Couldn't throw his fastball anywhere near where he wanted in the 4th and paid the price for it. Big time. Gave up a 3 run shot that had to go at least 425. Probably closer to 450. It was an absolute bomb.

Wandy Peralta struggled in his Dayton debut...5 runs in the first. I heard he has real good arm though.

After three scoreless innings, Columbus jumps all over Corcino for five runs in the fourth. Louisville scores a pair in the bottom of the fourth. 5-2 now.

    Bats:
Billy Hamilton is 4-4 and is now hitting .533. Hamilton has knocked in both Bats' runs. He also has three stolen bases and is well on his way to MiLPOTD.
Ray Chang and Kris Negron have a double and a single respectively.

    Arms:
After three scoreless frames, Daniel Corcino got treated like a pinata at a quincenera. And that isn't good. 3.2IP 5H 5ER 1BB 5K 1HR.
Nick Christiani has been more than solid in relief duties. 2.1IP 2H 0ER 0BB 3K.

Ray Chang also made a fantastic play in the field in the 2nd innings I believe. Diving stop at second, saved a hit.

Louisville has bases juiced in the bottom of the 6th with two outs. One hit away from getting right back in the game. Phipps phails. Maybe next inning. He just missed a salami to center. Major Leaguer Jose Arrendondo coming on. I am predicting at least two Ks this frame.

Well, Jose Arredondo did strike out two batters in his inning on the mound. However, he walked three, gave up a hit and two runs. Clay Hensely and Kevin Whalen each pitched a scoreless frame. Louisville falls 7-2.
They only scratched out one more hit the rest of the way - a single by Ray Chang.

Still early in Pensacola. Not much to report as the Wahoos trail 1 zip.

    Bats:
Vidal has the only walk. Brodie Greene has the lone safety so far- a single.

    Arms:
    Daniel Renken has pitched well. 4IP 4H 1ER 1BB 3K 0HR.

    Th-th-th-that's all, Folks!

    Dayton trails 5-0. Also early.

    Bats:
Beau Amaral has both Dragons' hits - a pair of singles.
    Brent Peterson has walked.

    Arms:
Wandy Peralta got pasted. 1IP 5H 5R 1ER 1BB 1K. He contributed to his demise with an error, as did Robert Ramirez.
Wes Mugarian pitched well in long relief again. 3IP 2H 0ER 1BB 2K.

Bakersfield is a starting in a bit. Q-school is open, as Radhames Quezada will be flinging the horsehide.

What are the odds of Billy Hamilton going 4-4 and scoring no runs? They've got to be astronomical.

Well, you got your two strikeouts, hotshot. But you didn't say anything about two runs. Or three walks.

I'm not too worried about Phipps phailing, unless Phipps phails phrequently, which would be unphortunate.

    Dayton update: They fall 6-0.

They mustered just two hits over the final four frames. Peterson doubled and has slumped to .700 on the season. Jesse Winker singled.
Wes Mugarian surrendered a run in his fourth inning of work. Alejandro Chacin then entered the contest and hurled 3 scoreless innings. He gave up a single, walked nobody and struck out three.

I can't call everything. Where's the suspense in that?

Down south in Pensacola, the Blue Fish Group has edged ahead 2-1.

Daniel Renken making his bid for MiPOTD. Seven strong innings of work. 4H 1ER 2BB 5K. Ondrusek pitched a scoreless 8th.

Mattair and Lohman have doubles. Brodie Greene with 2 hits and a walk. Devin Lohman singled home a run. David Vidal has walked twice and scored a run. Wahoo sticks have done just enough to have the team in position to win.

Incidentally, if Tucker Barnhart keeps it up he may well have his head frozen at some point in the future. He is hitting .417.

Lee Hyde nails it down. Nice.

Professor Quezada is behind the podium and tonight's lesson will be in whitewashing. There will be a quiz.
