I hate seeing Rolen as a shell of his former self.

I was hopeful about Rolen because all the reports coming back from Goodyear were how good he looked, how freely he was moving and how strong he felt.

Rolen is a shadow of the player he was when he first came to the Reds in 2009.

I'd bring Frazier up pronto and start having him caddy for Scott, for when the day comes.

Very true. Difference is if it continues it could very quickly contribute to costing Dusty Baker his job.

Guys, truth is, no one is hitting. Only Brandon and Ludwig have hit the ball hard. We are watching good pitches and swing at bad ones. Rolen is only one example. We will have a 4-9 or 3-10 record by Thursday.

    K by chapman.

Cozart is only a kid, but he has cost the Reds too. He didn't get the run in from third earlier with less than two outs and he K'd there in the ninth with man on second. Cozart and Rolen are both offensive goats today so far.

    Two down.

I don't think Rolen's done, I just think he needs to sit for a few days. 2/3s of this team is worthless at the plate right now.

I agree. Even today, Ludwick had a very long at bat due to umps call, hit a grand slam, and that has been essentially it. Reds did score another, but have had chances for many more.

    Team isn't hitting.

    Extras. K for Chapman. Again.

But Cozart is still doing WORLDS better than what we'd be getting from Janish. Ill take that chance all day long, and twice on Sundays.

Phillips is hardly ever hurt..... but people were worried that if he signed long term, eventually he would break down quickly in 2-3 years. Ironic that he breaks down like this within a day of getting the new contract. Is it that cold out there?

    Re: 4-15-12 at DC

He looks good defensively. But this guy needs to be batting 7th or 8th at best. I feel he is a better 2 hole hitter than 4 hole, if he must be left near the top...

    Again:

    Phillips
    Rolen
    Votto
    Bruce
    Cozart
    LF
    CF
    C
    P

    Or

    CF
    Cozart
    Votto
    Bruce
    Phillips
    LF
    Rolen
    C
    P

Of course, but I'm talking about this game in key spots.

I just think Rolen isn't ready yet. He missed much of last season. I'm not sure he's done, I think he'll hit later in the season.

I do think that probably Ludwick should hit fourth or fifth with Votto and Bruce in the middle, and Scott should hit sixth.
