Well I'm impressed. Give him a little more time with that curveball and we could really have something. He must've been a little worn down when he came up last year because that was a big boy fastbal tonight.

This is Stanton's 11th game and he's still looking for his first RBI of the year. Pretty incredible, even considering he's on a lousy team.

Teams will not let him beat them and he's not polished enough not to expand his zone when he actually gets guys in scoring position this year.

Don't forget Cingrani threw 45 pitches Sunday, so he was working on three days rest. Very solid start. I think he'll have better control next time out. He threw some very impressive breaking balls in his last couple innings.

You can sit on that fastball all you want, but if he's painting the corners with it like he was earlier in the game, you're not going to touch it. David Price, throws mainly fastballs, nearly unhittable. Fernandez throws straight gas, and if his location is on, you're not going to hit it.

So. Let me get this straight. I predicted the Reds hitters should/would start hitting the fastball and should sit on it. Then they did. And because I had a gut feeling that they would, you have a problem with it?

I'll take the 5-1 lead, thank you very much. I really did see it coming. Sorry if that annoys you.

Hard to complain about Cingrani tonight, with this being his first start. But if Cueto is out an extended period of time and Cingrani is up for a few months, I don't think he's anywhere near ready for that kind of exposure yet.

Bit unfair. Kid had to be jittery tonight. He has 8 strikeouts in 5 innings. Don't think we should underrate him too much.

Cingrani has a very slow and deceptive motion which makes his fastball appear quicker than it is. May not be that easy for hitters to adjust to this.

Very impressive start for him, I won't be surprised if Tony is sharper in future outings when he's more relaxed. Great start for him.
