The scouting report on his hitting wasn't that bad. It's been exaggerated around here.

Its already been a succesful year for the Reds' minor leagues, just seeing Thompson and Wood already moving a level this early. It really does put Thompson potentially into the mix in Cincy for next year. Really, really, really a nice development.

Maloney. Bailey. Thompson. There are three options at AAA that are close. That gives Jocketty a LOT of flexibility when it comes time for him to pursue deals.

Yeah, then add in the possibility of Wood at AAA to begin next year and/or a pitcher taken with the #7 pick next week.

If Thompson continues to put up big numbers expect to see a change of scenery for a certain prospect, if the deal is right.
If you have a losing record at Reds games, please stop going.

Would anyone trade anything for him at this point?

    Montgomery Top 7th

Pitcher Change: Robert Manuel replaces Travis Wood.
Gabriel Martinez flies out to center fielder Cody Strait.
Patrick Cottrell flies out to center fielder Cody Strait.
John Raburn singles on a ground ball to right fielder Shaun Cumberland.
Rashad Eldridge lines out to left fielder Daniel Dorn.

    Columbus Bottom 8th

Pitcher Change: Gary Majewski replaces Daryl Thompson, batting 3rd, replacing right fielder Jolbert Cabrera.
Defensive switch from left field to right field for Drew T. Anderson.
Chris Dickerson remains in the game as the left fielder.
    Tommy Murphy strikes out swinging.
Pete Orr called out on strikes.
Kory Casto grounds out, pitcher Gary Majewski to first baseman Kevin Barker.

Don't look now, but the Majek man is getting outs lately. I like him just fine in AAA.

Not sure if this is a good or bad thing:

Majewski with another 1-2-3 inning in the 8th. 2 Ks and a grounder to 1st. His ERA is down to 3.86. I still don't trust him though.

Lousiville up 2-1 in the bottom of the 9th. Adkins gets the leadoff batter to fly out to right. The second batter pops out to Luis Bolivar at short. The last guy flies out to Gil in center.

Despite no Bruce or Phillips, the Bats get the win 2-1. Great job by Thompson and co. tonight.

Not bad. I got to see him earlier this year in Dayton. He looked pretty good. As a lefty with that fastball if his offspeed stuff continues to improve he will have a real shot at being a very good reliever.

    Montgomery Top 8th

Ronnie Merrill grounds out to first baseman Tonys Gutierrez.
Rhyne Hughes called out on strikes.
Chris Nowak called out on strikes.

    Manuel is pitching well.

Roenicke gets the save for Chattanooga. I'd like to see him in Cincy in September at worst.

Wood got the win. Nice debut.

Roenicke's inning was in 1-2-3 fashion with one strikeout. It's about time to get him to Cincy.

    I'd settle for Louisville.

It looks as though Jocketty and Reynolds aren't shy about making moves with the minor leaguers. I wonder why Roenicke is still in AA, and how long he'll be there.
