    Re: Votto hitting leadoff

well, now if he could somehow NOT pencil in a SS - not named Keppinger - into the 2 hole, this might actually look like a Major League Lineup.

I mean seriously, you have 2 guys from the minors come up to play SS, and they are put into the 2 hole?!?!? To what, strike-out and hit .240. YES, that is an improvement over Corey Patterson, but COME ON.

I see no benefit - other than to have 2 crappy hitters in a row at the end of the lineup - but it's better than having 2 crappy hitters in a row at the TOP OF THE LINEUP!?!?!

    Votto
    Bruce
    BP
    Dunn
    EE
    Patterson
    Ross
    Cabrera

    put your light-hitting SS 8th - not 2nd!! UGH!!

    PEACE

I think that in a year or two, one of these guys - Frazier, Dorn, Valaika, Cumberland, Stubbs - will be ready to replace Dunn. They won't hit as many home runs as Dunn, but they should have similar OPS. - 757690, July 22, 2008

Alonso will be playing 1B for the REDS and batting 4th one year from today. - Kingspoint, July 9, 2009

Exactly, just one of the many reasons why dusty should be fired. It's just unacceptable.

    Re: Votto hitting leadoff

Well, dudepick must have received another epiphany.

    Today's lineup:

    N. Hopper cf .269
    J. Bruce rf 325
    B. Phillips 2b .265
    A. Dunn lf .227
    E. Encarnacion 3b .244
    J. Votto 1b .278
    P. Bako c .241
    P. Janish ss .192
    A. Harang p

What a novel concept batting your WORST hitters LAST in the lineup so they get the LEAST amount of plate appearances.

What's next?!?! He's going to bat BP 3rd ONLY against lefties, and put Dunn/EE/Votto/anybody in there in the 3 hole against righties!??!?! NAHHHHHHHH, that'd be TOO much for ME to handle...

    PEACE
