Redzone Community Prospect Vote 28 Runoff

There was a tie between Paul Janish and Richie Gardner for the #28 spot. Just vote for the player you think is the better of the two.

Janish plays solid defense and has pretty good plate discipline. If he can slug .400+ in the Major Leagues (and granted, he has a ways to go before he gets there, but it's far from impossible), he'll be a very good, all-around baseball player.

Had I known that would have happened, I would've changed my vote to Justin Reed--I like him more than Janish and Gardner.

Not a big deal. Since his name was left off the ballot he was at a disadvantage, I would have included Reed here.

I'm officially choosing "None of the above" on this one.

How? There is an 'other' option. If people thought Justin Reed was the best guy left, then he was easy to vote for.

    .

Some folks might just read the list and pick the best guy listed. They may not focus on "other" or focus on names left off. No big deal, I just would have included Reed in the run-off. Let's leave it at that.

As between the two, I'll vote for Janish. My guess is he is likely to see major league time. Unfortunately, it's still too early to know what Gardner's future will be post-injury, although all Reds fans wish him well.

Still, an athlete like Reed who did so well in Rookie ball at age 20 would be my selection. Hope he gets the 29 spot.

I think people are over-looking Janish's number one asset. He makes Juan Castro expendable. He gets my vote.

I'd say Reed deserves this spot. He got screwed in the last vote.
