I said that to myself when I saw him in the lineup.

Off the bat I thought Cozart got more of that. Ah well.

Yes. Now 2 for 24 on the year. They have to come up with some better options off the bench than this.

Harris is off to a terrible start, I think he's better than this, but the numbers are what they are.

In a way, he's been a fortunate choice because he plays second base and can play when Phillips rests the hammy.

But eventually the Reds should have a stronger lefty hitter off the bench and Harris should go. Valdez is the middle infielder and the Reds can't afford two weak hitting middle infielders on the bench. They need an offensive player and neither Harris nor Valdez is.

My understanding is that it's his worst infield position.

Probably in a pinch, but I don't see him as an offensive force, either.

Fly balls are going to be hard today as Stubbs struggled with that one before catching it.

Todd Frazier at 2B over Harris.

Re: 4/22/12 - Reds at Cubs

I think the Francisco trade has had an impact on the Reds. At least with JF, even with very few lefty hitters, the Reds had a potent lefty bat on the bench to hit righties.

No problem trading him for a good arm, but Harris really not an ample replacement. If you are going to have only three lefty bats on the team, at least make them good offensive players. Harris has had a decent career as a backup, but is older now and doesn't seem to have much left.

I think the Reds should have at least two more good lefty or switch hitting bats. But at least one. . . .

Against a below average righty pitcher like Wells, it would help a lot.
