Re: Saturday 5/2/09 minor league updates

Hopefully the Reds monitor Homer Bailey closely today. He threw 119 pitches in his last start. Hopefully he can build on his last start and have another nice outing today.

I'm also interested in seeing how Fairel pitches. He's been dominant in his last two starts.

    Roster move:

Notes: The Dragons sent pitcher Leonardo Astorga to Billings to make room on the roster for Sulbaran. Astorga was 0-3, 18.00 in four starts.

Louisville takes a 1-0 lead when Norris Hopper (single) scored on a wild pitch.

Valaika also singled. Let's hope his May is better than his April was.

Louisville down 3-1 in the second inning, Lecure struggling with control.

Anyone with the Big Ten Network, I encourage you to turn it on right now. A very INTERESTING game in the 9th with a great pitching performance so far.

Not minor league related, but Ohio State sophomore standout Alex Wimmer no-hits Michigan

    Bailey: 5 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 3 K, 1 BB, 51 Strikes, 20 Balls, ERA at 4.97.

Gameday has a lot of his pitches in the heart of the plate. Maybe he's changing speeds effectively, or maybe the Buffalo hitters just aren't any good (very possile judging from their avgs.).

    Bats still lead 2-0.

Gameday can't be trusted for accurate pitch placement.
