The negative: Cabrera not stopping that ball that trickled through the infield. It was so close to him, he almost stepped on it. Instead he tried to stab at, where he could have easily smothered it with his body, holding the runner on 3rd. Cabrera's always been a cocky individual, and it's that part of his attitude why I don't like him as a player. It cost us a run in a close game.
The positive: Instead of whacking at the 1st pitch as often as they did in Game 1, the REDS, as a whole, were very patient in Game 2, taking the 1st pitch most of the time, whether it was a strike or a ball. The first time through the lineup, only Stubbs swung at the first pitch. They need to be looking at pitches, and in early games in April, force the opposing starter to throw more pitches so he's gone that much sooner. The results weren't that good as Wainwright pitched very well, but it was still 2-2 through 6 innings.
