Re: Your Top 10 All-Time favorite songs

These lists are so interesting to me.

For instance. Roy's list. I would imagine that would be almost the exact same list as my Dad and were basically all songs I grew up listening to as a kid.

Cyclone's list is a list of songs I'd probably list as my Top 10 if I were in a mellow, laid-back mood. Especially Anna Begins and Corduroy. We share "Where'd You Go" in our Top 10, and I love that 2Pac song as well. Zombie listed a lot of songs I liked in college, but haven't listened to in a long time.

This is a tough assignment. As Roy said, I could probably do a Top 50 by decade and still leave some songs out. I'd also have a hard time doing a Top 10 by genre.

    Good stuff so far everyone.

At any given time I have about 50 songs in my Top 10, but here's what comes to mind now:

Wish You Were Here - Pink Floyd
    Black - Pearl Jam
Fly Me to the Moon - Frank Sinatra (I have a live version that is excellent)
Hey Hey, My My - Neil Young
    Napoleon - Ani DiFranco
Scenes From an Italian Restaurant - Billy Joel
Tear Stained Eye - Son Volt
    Zombie - Cranberries
    Good Riddance - Green Day
    Red Barchetta - Rush

My list mostly reflects the fact that I'm just an overall laid-back kind of dude so those types of the songs are the ones that make the list over the long haul.

The upbeat "rock out" kind of songs that I always like tend to be the usual flavor of the month kinds in that I'll listen to them a lot for a few weeks or months, then they'll just tend to fade away for a time before cropping back up again for another few weeks.

So I'm either desperately clinging to my youth, or I haven't bought any new CDs in a long time. Ok.

If that was your way of sucking up so you could post 15 songs, it worked.

If it wasn't, thanks, I think. Still not sure how to take that.
