He is the RH version of Tom Browning....but at least Tom would back someone off the plate.

Micah Owings is still PISSED about getting plunked last year and tries to take it out on Hanley Ramirez.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

It was mostly a mistake pitch.

I think it was mostly blind rage. Owings's bloodlust knows no bounds.

a Raisor family reunion in the works? Seriously, if you can actually travel at the speed of light through deep space, maybe 50+ noble prizes isn't as impressive as it seems....

Yep. But those guys can get better. Harang is on the wrong side of the hill.

I think the Reds guys are exhausted from the previous two games and need a change of location to get their mojo back. I'm glad they'll at least split this series with the Marlins. It's still way early in the year to make snap judgments about the team as a whole and I'm giving them at least a month before I start worrying about anything. Thank goodness Pittsburgh is this weekend where the guys should get at least two wins out of the series.

Have fun being negative downers. Even me, one of the optimists of this board, can't handle too much of that tonight.
"I tried to play golf, but I found out I wasn't very good." -Joey Votto on his offseason hobby search

An MLB.com reporter asked what one thing Votto couldn’t do. “I can’t skate or play hockey,” Votto said. “Well, I can skate ... but I can’t stop.”

Owings pitch count has climbed pretty fast.

44 pitches in just 1.1 innings of work.

Everyone must have gone to bed. I just got in. Just noticed the NL West Champs are 3-5, so it could be worse. We've played the very excellent Cardinals, the Cubs and a good Marlin team and will be 5-5. Two years ago, this team would be 3-7. Small steps.

I just browsed the Reds and Marlins lineups. The Marlins have 2 hitters below .300 but everyone is above .290. The Reds aren't anywhere near that level. They really are stinking at the plate.
