He is the RH version of Tom Browning....but at least Tom would back someone off the plate.

Micah Owings is still PISSED about getting plunked last year and tries to take it out on Hanley Ramirez.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”
"This isn’t stats vs scouts - this is stats and scouts working together, building an organization that blends the best of both worlds. This is the blueprint for how a baseball organization should be run. And, whether the baseball men of the 20th century like it or not, this is where baseball is going."---Dave Cameron, U.S.S. Mariner

At least someone knows that throwing inside is not a bad thing
Did anyone see the mysterious fireball last night?

I think the Reds guys are exhausted from the previous two games and need a change of location to get their mojo back. I'm glad they'll at least split this series with the Marlins. It's still way early in the year to make snap judgments about the team as a whole and I'm giving them at least a month before I start worrying about anything. Thank goodness Pittsburgh is this weekend where the guys should get at least two wins out of the series.
Have fun being negative downers. Even me, one of the optimists of this board, can't handle too much of that tonight.
"I tried to play golf, but I found out I wasn't very good." -Joey Votto on his offseason hobby search

Owings pitch count has climbed pretty fast.
44 pitches in just 1.1 innings of work.
I just browsed the Reds and Marlins lineups. The Marlins have 2 hitters below .300 but everyone is above .290. The Reds aren't anywhere near that level. They really are stinking at the plate.
