On a side note, it is interesting that the minor league game threads are just as long if not longer than the big club game threads. I suppose it has something to do with more folks are able to post here but I think it has more to do with where Reds fans have turned their interests...

Votto with a RBI double to deep left-center. Yet another opposite field hit for Votto.

Dayton is getting shutout by Clayton Kershaw, the Dodgers pick right before Stubbs in last years draft. Looks like he is going to be a stud:
    Only 19 years old
Stats for the year(not including tonight)
    42 IP, 2.79 ERA, 30H, 61K, 27BB, .201 AVG against

Very solid Triple-A debut by Johnny Cueto, who is still one of the most underrated prospects in all of baseball IMO. Two runs on five hits with 0 walks and six strikeouts (plus numerous other 0-2 counts) in five innings. I'll take that out of a guy who has never pitched above High-A. My hope is the Reds look at this start and decide to promote him to Chattanooga instead of sending him back down to Sarasota.

I wouldn't say Reds fans, in general. The casual fan (which is the majority) probably has no idea who Cueto is. I would be willing to bet that there is a large number of people out there who have never heard of Joey Votto as well.

With the big club struggling as bad as they have, I would say some of RedsZone has turned to the minor leagues for a little bit of "sunshine".

    It is intresting though.

Why not leave him @ AAA? What if he puts up another performance like the one he did tonight?

I would give him another start, a "ride the wave" so to speak.

Hamilton's been taken out of the game.

    Hopefully he's not hurt.

I'd say it's the combination of the Reds system being in better shape now than it's been in years along with the Reds themselves struggling mightily.

Every minor league club in the system now has players worth keeping an eye on each night. Here's a snapshot, and I'm probably forgetting guys ...

Dayton: Watson, Stubbs, Valaika, Turner, Francisco
Sarasota: Bruce, Cueto, Wood, Rosales, Dorn
Chattanooga: Medlock, Pelland, Guevara, Anderson, Janish, Strait
    Louisville: Bailey, Votto, McBeth, Dickerson

That's off the top of my head, and that's 20 guys right there. As I said before, I'm probably missing guys too. But anytime we've got upwards of two dozen worthwhile players to track on a nightly basis, including some guys who have the potential to really make a splash for the Reds someday, it makes it exciting to keep track of how they're doing.

It certainly is better than in past years when the organization had a small handful of players worth tracking along with a bunch of organizational roster-filling stiffs.

Phipps K'd looking. The Dragons were 2 hit by the Dodgers #1 draft pick last year.

Sarasota loses 8-2. Dorn homers. They have a new SS. He had a rough day 0-2 with 2 errors that lead to 4 un-earned runs. Does anybody have any info on this guy? His name is Tablado. I bet after the All-Star game you will see the Dragons middle infield in the FSL.
