    Redsfest

I get free tickets every year from the Reds and never go due to the travel involved/work. This year, I could make it to Friday of the event but, I would have to drive home that night. So, is it worth traveling nine hours in one day to attend? What say Redszone?

Heck no! So, can I get those tickets from you? ;-)

Seriously, Redsfest is awesome. I don't know that it would be nine hours worth of driving awesome though.

I agree on both counts. It helps my decision to go when I live 15 minutes from the Convention Center, though.

Definetly would not drive that far for it alone. Now if you have that plus other things you want to do while in town, maybe.

I have a two hour drive one way and it's barely worth it at that distance.

That being said....it is an extremely well done production and is very fun!

It depends on what you are into. If you are into the autographs and pictures and memorabilia, then it is worth it. But there are going to be long lines for the autographs and pictures - especially for Bruce, Phillips, and Votto. You may stand in line for two hours and not get what you want. There's always some kind of stage show going on with Reds personnel. The gift shop is there and they do sell certain items at a discount - although rarely any of the popular sizes. There's tons of memorabilia there - including a lot of non-Reds stuff. Saturday may be worth your trip since it's basically all day whereas Friday's only a few hours and you're going back that evening anyway. It's worth it to go - especially if you've never been there - but you may want to wait until you can get there Friday night, go all day on Saturday and either leave afterwards or leave on Sunday.

I have been several times and drive 6.5 hours. I had smaller kids though at the time and it was way worth it for them. I am planning to go this year because my oldest son will be starting college next year and it is probably our last time to do it. Would I go without kids? No way for a Friday only and especially no way driving 9 hours. My kids have some great memories there so it was worth it to me.

I remember one time going out to the mound to talk with Bob Gibson. He told me to get back behind the batter, that the only thing I knew about pitching was that it was hard to hit.

My 6 year old son loves it.

He drives me crazy all the time asking when we are going.

Anyone remember when they started to reveal some of the names of the players attending Redsfest last year?

Probably because he has to go to Jay's wedding on Saturday (which is just speculation on my part but it does say that Jay isn't attending at all this year due to Wedding/Honeymoon so it makes sense with that information). Glad I usually go both days!

BTW-Dallas Latos tweeted the other night that Mat is only missing from the Redsfest list because they haven't made travel arrangements yet so it's probably very safe to assume he will be there too.

Latos could be the greeter at the door - you know, the "welcome Mat"

I hope Dusty doesn't decide who relieves Mat as a door greeter.

Mat may be stuck there till 4 am till his replacement is sent in .

Not much chatter about Redsfest this year in here.
