"This isn’t stats vs scouts - this is stats and scouts working together, building an organization that blends the best of both worlds. This is the blueprint for how a baseball organization should be run. And, whether the baseball men of the 20th century like it or not, this is where baseball is going."---Dave Cameron, U.S.S. Mariner
I really like timeline. Not sure why all the hate, except it's like every change FB made that everyone ended up liking after 2 weeks.
Lots of people hate timeline.

It's a competition to see who Facebook can upset more: the users or the people that purchased the IPO.
"No matter how good you are, you're going to lose one-third of your games. No matter how bad you are you're going to win one-third of your games. It's the other third that makes the difference." ~Tommy Lasorda
Go Gators!
Off topic, but is there a way to block Mitt Romney, Paul Ryan, and Barack Obama on FB? Everytime someone likes them a giant picture of one of those doofuses shows up in my feed.
Hugs, smiling, and interactive Twitter accounts, don't mean winning baseball. Until this community understands that we are cursed to relive the madness.

After initially disliking the idea of Timeline I've warmed to it a bit. I still wish I could make the privacy settings more restrictive but c'est la vie.
I guess people use Facebook in different ways. For me, I didn't see what the fuss was all about; I set a cool cover photo and forgot about it. (It also helps that I never post anything I might feel compelled to hide later.) But then, I have the notifications set up, so I never had to check my own wall to see if anything new was on it.

I read this in a recent article about FB and I largely agree:
http://www.cnn.com/2012/08/24/opinio...cks/index.htmlThere is a difference between using Facebook and loving Facebook. The company has repeatedly annoyed its users with everything from privacy policy waffles to aggressive ad placements. Facebook is the Microsoft of social media; used by everyone but truly loved by few.
It started off as fun as old faces reemerged from the past with little effort but it quickly got boring and annoying. I guess after the newness wore off, it's been a battle of being more trouble than useful. I think FB gets more out of me being on FB than I get out of it and there are some real troubling aspects about privacy and security that I'm old enough to find scary and invasive.
