He's pitching pretty well but he hasnt really dominated. I would leave him down there till he has some dominant outings.

Homer has been very pitch effective so far. He has 1 out in the 5th and has only thrown 72 pitches.

Homer just allowed a solo HR and Louisville trails 3-0.

Should we be worried about the 13/9 K/BB ratio?

Bailey is done after 6 innings and 92 pitches. FINAL LINE

6ip, 4h, 3r (only 1 earned on the solo HR), 1bb and 2k. 57 strikes thrown, 35 balls thrown. 9 ground outs, 6 fly outs.

Thats what im saying, he hasnt had any big SO games. You cant really agrue with the sub 2 era though. I think he just needs some time and he will get it rolling with the K's. If through 10 starts his era is sub 3 he may be ready.

I am not really worried. His first two outing were ones where he struggled with his command and had 6 walks in 10 innings, he now has just 3 in his last 11 innings. With that said, he has allowed 12 hits in 21.1 innings. That is 5.06 Hits per 9 innings in AAA from a guy who is 20 years old. I can't say if he is working on his stuff or what, and maybe its why he is not striking as many guys out but if he continues to not allow hits at the rate he is I am not worried so much.

Well there's good and bad. 6 IP with 1 ER, and only 1 walk. The strikeout numbers and unearned runs show he's not dominating. He shouldn't come up until he forces his way up (dominating in all areas) or the someone in the rotation implodes. Neither is happening now so Homer stays at Louisville.

One might argue the low low low WHIP shows some dominance. For all we know, he is soft-pedaling his power stuff to work on the change etc. and that may be affecting his rates. For me, looking at it from a computer in Memphis, I see a 20-year-old who AAA is doing not much of anything against. Pretty positive...

Unearned runs show he isnt dominating? how? His defense screwing up has no bearing on him not dominating. I would say that his 5.06 Hits per 9 innings shows that he is dominating. Think about that number for a second.

Minor league stats are useless to June. Early season trends and hotstreaks can readjust quickly.
