    Mike Hessman

The guy is 35 years old and has a .968 OPS in Louisville. Seems to be a career AAAA guy...he isn't going any higher than Louisville unless terrible injuries strike the Reds.

But he is having an incredible season so far...anyway he could be parlayed into anything?

Let him DH for the Reds tomorrow.

I am absolutely serious. Reds need a righty bat to DH tomorrow.

Better yet. Let Votto DH for a rest. Let Hessman play first.

I don't see him having trade value at this point, but I wouldn't mind giving him a shot, just to see if he can get hot for a while. I know he's been pretty terrible in the past (honestly, I don't even remember him with the Mets, mostly just with Detroit) so I wouldn't depend on anything, but as long as you're at a point where Lutz is an option, why not call him up as a DH or pinch hitting option? Maybe he can run into one late in a close game.
