The Reds bullpen has a 3.44 ERA

    NL bullpens 3.62 ERA
    AL bullpens 3.78 ERA

Logan just isn't that good. I would rather have seen Hoover pitch there, he's underused of late and can be more effective.

It would seem that Dusty did not want to use Brox and Chapman today, both have worked the first two games. But Logan has 18 appearances after today despite being at AA for several weeks. Too much for Ondrusek.

Logan just wasn't a good choice for today and it cost the Reds. Tough game.
    Yep. Should have been Hoover.

Cards down 2-0 in the first with Kershaw pitching.

A few things. When did a 3 run lead become a high leverage situation? And Logan wasn't a good choice for today? The choices were Logan, Parra or Simon. That's it. Hoover was penciled in to close. You hold Simon just in case you go extras or blow it open. So basically Parra or Logan. Chapman, Broxton & LeCure were LAST options...Dusty said before the game that he didn't want to use ANY of them today unless he was absolutely forced to (not verbatim).

If Hoover is closing today, he should have been warming up while the wheels fell off with Ondrusek pitching. He could have pitched to 1 batter in the 8th and then finished the 9th.

Dusty always leaves pitchers in too long. It's been one of his biggest downfalls.

I didn't say he wasn't. Thought that was likely the case. Trying to head off the Dusty stuff.
Rounding third and heading for home...

I'm guessing we'll see JJ in the 9th and Simon if it goes extras. LeCure if we get desperate.
