Through text message, the Blue Jays take Roger Kieschnick, OF, Texas Tech (cousin of the great Brooks).

He actually had a name in mind this time, but I do say kudos, those are some pretty terrible names. I prey that Jaff is a nickname, and Jordy is actually a female. Otherwise, the parents need to be arrested.

A kid named Jordy Nelson was just drafted by the Green Bay Packers last month.

Jordy must be the new Jodi/Jody

It's sorta a stretch here, but the Tigers select, Tim Murphy, LHP UCLA.

This might/could be their "new" Kenny Rogers.

I saw Murphy pitch on ESPN back in March and he looked pretty darn good that night. He's got a real nice curveball.

I think we'll be in good shape if we can get into the 80's today.

He was almost Rick Ankiel-like. Last year in '07 he played CF along with pitching. But he's not much of a hitter.

He had 111 K's and an ERA under 3.50, but the 5-6 record is pretty misleading on a poor offensive UCLA club.

The Tigers, IMO, will need pitching and pitching. There's something flawed with Verlander and Robertson. And I don't think Ilitch's is selling enough Pizzas to go FA shopping again.

I thought maybe Paramore would have been available. The Tigers need a quick C fix at somepoint. And even while he knows he's a fix, Brandon Inge isn't being considered.

The New York Mets select the scion of a Mets hero, Cutter Dykstra, as the centerfielder of the Mets future.
