“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”
Interesting that Braun played half a game yesterday and sits out today.
Can TBD hit?
For those worrying, John Fay has a helpful tip

RT @BrianUllery: MT @rjhumble When should we start to get concerned about this team?//Right now.” Now I'm worried. Any suggestions//Toga

I found the Reds lineup:
Choo
Cozart (who will just roll the ball to the shortstop and save everyone some time)
Votto
Heisey's non-swollen elbow
Jay Bruce's hair
Some guy Dusty met outside Miller Park who said he was a catcher.
Phillips' newborn baby
Frazier's friend that he grew up with in Jersey
Derrick Robinson's legs
Leake

I heard Walt was negotiating with Holden Caulfield; who does have some catching experience.

2015 Attendance 2-1 (4/6, 4/7,4/24)
2014 Attendance 1-3 (3/31, 4/12, 8/14)
2013 Attendance: 6-0 (4/3, 4/16, 4/17, 8/3, 8/21, 9/7)
The Brewers pitcher has an ERA over 12. Hopefully the Reds can muster up a run or two against him today.

I'm confused why we do not just bring up a C or sign one until the ASB. What happened to Dusty's policy of making guys sit an extra day after they say they are ready to play. Mez can barely walk after Monday and tells John Fay he needs a day, two, or three to get better on Tuesday. So why start him the next day?
A team that has been decimated by injuries, yet we are throwing guys like Hanigan and Mez out there while they are injured?

Why do Marty and Thom not seriously question and harp and gripe about Cozart hitting 2nd like they do about lack of Votto RBI's...or Bruce hot/cold streaks?
Try Frazier? He can hit fastballs..he will get them. I would even prefer Cesar hitting more than once a week, like two...yes it is that bad for me.
Frazier should be tried there at worst, he will get more fastballs.
I had no idea who Johnny Hellweg was so I googled this scouting report. It appears that he can touch triple digits. But has not a single clue as to where it is going.

http://cincinnati.com/blogs/reds/201...tter-not-good/Devin Mesoraco’s back is good enough that Reds manager Dusty Baker went with usual Mike Leake-Mesoraco battery.
“Mes said he was OK,” Baker said. “He usually catches Leake. They’ve done pretty well together. He got here early for treatment, like he’s supposed to do. If you get here early for treatment, it shows me you might be ready or trying to get ready.”
–Ryan Hanigan’s left wrist held up fairly well through Tuesday’s game. “It was sore,” he said. “The (cortisone) shot helped.”
Hanigan has dealt with injuries to both hands, his left wrist and a left oblique — in addition to the normal wear and tear of catching.
“It’s been ridiculous,” he said. “But there’s still a lot of season left. I’m going to take the All-Star Break and try to heal up. I want to make a good push and the team win.”
–Chris Heisey had a compression sleeve on his left arm to try to keep down the swelling. He took pitched off his elbow the last two games. Wily Peralta hit him with a 95 mph pitch Tuesday.
“It’s pretty sore,” Baker said. “Hopefully, it will loosen up the next couple of days.”
“His arm looks like pin cushion,” Baker said. “It’s all black and blue. We just got him back and he was swinging pretty good.”
–Xavier Paul returned to the lineup for the first time since banging his shoulder and elbow into the wall at Great American Ball Park on Friday.
“We need X’s bat,” Baker said, “especially when we’re not scoring runs.”
Then Baker added something interesting: “We’re not scoring runs in the whole system,” he said. “It’s not just here, it’s everywhere.”
