Talked to Austin Kearns at the UK game this past Saturday...

    He looked very "in-shape."

Shook his hand and talked to him for a couple minutes.

    He was very cordial.

Asked him if he was ready for a big season this year; he said he was.

Told him his boy Dunn was about to get paid. He laughed and agreed with me.

I asked him if he thought Dunn would like to sign with Cincinnati long-term. He said that he thought Dunn would be open to it.

I asked him if he'd like to play again with Dunn some day and he said he would.

Nothing earth-shattering, but I thought it was fairly interesting so I figured I'd post it.

Oh yeah: We ended our conversation by me asking him if we were going to kick South Carolina. He said YES.

That's good stuff. Thank you for posting that. UK fans sure do enjoy beating The University of South Carolina.

Yea but while you are trying to win the NIT we will be shooting for an NCAA championship.

I remember one time going out to the mound to talk with Bob Gibson. He told me to get back behind the batter, that the only thing I knew about pitching was that it was hard to hit.

....yeah, they traded him away too. I suspect the Hamilton deal will work out about like that one did.

Maybe he's playing Wii now. That might put him in better shape.

What, no questions to Austin about your namesake?
