His struggles against lefties don't concern me that much. I say that because he has 11 walks and 14 strikeouts in 75 career at bats against lefties. And a 24% line drive rate. If he were at something like 3 walks and 18 strikeouts against lefties, we would have to seriously wonder if he would ever hit lefties. As it is, he doesn't seem to have an issue seeing the ball out of a lefties hand at all and that bodes well for his future against lefties.

Do you think Alonso starts at AAA next year? I think there is a real small chance he starts with the Reds but...that's pretty unlikely. I just can't see them starting him back at AA.
Thanks

Those are pretty decent rates... Doesn't the fact he has only had 75 career AB's against LH make a case he should see more of them and hit them decently at a lower level before taking on close to ML ready pitching?
BTW what os his career OPS vs LH's? I don't know where to find it...

In 62 at-bats for his career against LHP, his OPS is .578.
I think Rojas should be moved up but I don't see them promoting Buchholtz or moving him off SS to 2B. Then they would block Puckett.
This is where some interesting and creative decisions have to be made. There is no doubt Rojas is an EXCELLENT SS... I have seen him make some plays in the hole and behind 2B you would never expect a SS to get to... His range and first step is GG caliber right now. There is no way his bat plays anywhere else... So what do you do with Buchholtz?
Been about 60/40 2B on the year... alot more 2B since he returned from the DL. So you may be right... But it could go either way... Someone is going to get blocked... Rojas, Puckett or Mendez (if they shift Puckett to 3rd)... Unless they promote Buchholtz which is unlikely.
I wouldn't... No way a team would keep him on a 25 man Roster all year. His bat is 3 or 4 years at least from being MLB ready. Wood, Lecure, Avery, Ondrusek and Denove should be protected IMO. That leaves Rojas, Santana, who I think is a good arm in Dayton, Tordi, Eymann, Feiner, De Jesus, Griffin and Ward should all be left off.
Remove Wells thru FA, One of Nix/Gomes/Taveras thru DFA, Hernandez thru FA, Bray, Miller and McDonald (Non Tender) Outright Lehr, Barker, Richar, Castillo back to AAA and Keep Volquez on the 60 Day DL. That should open enough spots for those 5 and Lincoln and one or 2 FA's...
LeCure is on the 40 man.

Come on Cam seriously? Just why would you toss away a kid who throws what 93 from the left side with a nice slider who just the previous year had a really good season? He's got more velocity than Herrera and better control/command than Viola. Only Rhodes is clearly a better LH arm out of the pen and he is ancient. There is simply no good reason to give up on him IMO, I mean even in arbitration he's not gonna be making ridiculous amounts of cash assuming it gets that far.
