Pensacola setting off some fireworks today at home as the lead Birmingham 6-1 in the middle of the third. Daniel Corcino pitching for the 'Hoos. 3IP 2H 1ER 0BB 3K. Brodie Greene has homered and Andrew Means has tripled. Bryson Smith and David Vidal with hits. Birmingham giving away plenty of free passes.

Matt Wickswat is pitching for Birmingham. Fireworks must be scaring him a little. Six walks so far today, here with one out in the bottom of the third.

The numbers for him on the year are ugly. Coming into today: 36IP 56H 41BB 21K.

Carlos Gonzalez will pitch for the Dragons. Dayton gets underway in about an hour.
The Blaze will hand the ball to Pat Doyle later in the evening. He is looking for his 8th win on the season. This will be just his 4th start on the year.
Robert Stephenson will also be making just his fourth start on the year tonight as he goes up against the Helena Handbaskets. Stephenson showing well so far in his first three starts. 14IP 10H 4ER 2BB 19K. First pitch in just less than an hour.

Louisville finally collects their first hit on the afternoon as Negron triples to lead off the sixth. A sac fly by Cody Puckett delivers the runner home. Bats trail 4-1.

Pensacola jumped out early and still leads by a score of 7-2 after seven full. Corcino with a solid six innings, allowing only four hits and two walks while striking out five. He also picked off a runner. Johnny C. would be proud. Pearl and Manno have followed him to the mound.
Offensively, Brodie Greene has a 3-run bomb, walked twice, hit a sac fly and driven home four of the Blue Wahoo's runs. LaMarre a hit and two walks. Smith and Vidal each with a pair of hits.

Dayton hangs an 8-spot in the first as they bat around and then some. Carlos Gonzalez is the beneficiary. Reading the play-by-play just noticed that Junior Arias reached on an error and then was replaced. No details.

Robert Stephenson pitched just three innings. He was a little wild so I imagine he reached his pitch-count limit. 3IP 1H 0ER 4BB 3K. ERA now stands at 2.12. He was relieved by Jesus Adame who has surrendered two unearned runs in two innings. Score is 2-2 after five. Robert Maddox has been the entire offensive show so far. Two solo homers accounting for both Mustangs' runs. Jesse Winker has the night off.

Justin Freeman closed for Pensacola today. I didn't realize how good he has been recently. Last 10 games 1.46 ERA 12 inn, 4 hits, 18/2 K/BB ratio

And isn't about time to put Ryan Feierabend out to pasture?

Yorman is 3-4. Yovan Gonzalez is 3-3. Dayton has 16 hits in four innings and leads 14-1.

    That's where the Pythag deceives.

At the expense of Jordan Remer, the Handbaskets went ahead of Billings 5-4 in the top of the seventh. The Mustangs need Robert Maddox to get up there again.

. . . I swear I wrote that before checking back to see that Maddox has just hit his third HR of the game to put Billings back ahead 7-5.

When, exactly, was Ryan Feierabend IN the pasture?
