Coffey continues his descent to oblivion by allowing a Craig Wilson HR to lead-off the 8th.
All my posts are my opinion - just like yours are. If I forget to state it and you're too dense to see the obvious, look here!

I think he's ready to be challenged. Promote him to Louisville after the draft. If nothing else, maybe he'll push Bailey.

I'd add Jukich to that list.

    Thompson: 6 IP, 6 H, 4 R, 3 ER, 3 BB, 0 K

You got the lines mixed up.

I'd like to see one more High-K, low-BB performance from him before a promotion.

well maybe that will keep coffey in louisville a bit longer. something is not right with him.
there's nothing like bowling a 300 game! 13 now and retired.

Ricky henderson has a higher OBP than C. patterson and he's retired. C. Trent 6-14-2008

I just cut and pasted from the in-game boxscore at MILB.com which seemed to match their play by play summary. Must have had a goof somewhere.

IMO, that promotion would be way too soon. You've got to allow the league a chance to catch up to Thompson. All we know is the SL had a bear of a time with him for six weeks. What we don't know if that's a true reflection of his quality or just the result of a short snapshot in time (it's almost always the latter, even for stud pitchers). My guess is SL lineups will start giving him trouble from here on out and Thompson stands to gain a lot from the experience.

Mind you, standard operating procedure is to promote the kid before a circuit gets to challenge him and I expect that's what the Reds will do. I just don't think standard operating procedure is based in anything close to sensibility.
    I'm not a system player. I am a system.
