I also like how he matter-of-factly stated that a team's Defense changes how a pitcher performs and to a much, much, much greater degree than any normal fan (100% of all REDSZONE posters) gives a Defense credit for.

I don't think posters will ever understand the value of Defense and the value of a Catcher's play-calling.
I like this post because you are acting so high and mighty, as if you are the only one who has ever hit a keyboard here who understands baseball.

That's one of the most condescending posts I've ever read. Pat yourself on the back.

2-1 is still a hitter's count. Make him throw a strike.

Take it for what it's worth. The fact remains. 100% of REDSZONE posters far underestimate the value of Defense to a Pitcher's performance AND are completely clueless when it comes to understanding the value of a Catcher to a pitcher's performance.

I could care less if you think I'm being condescending.

What's arrogant are all of the posters who think they understand the value of Defense. They'll try to back up their beliefs with some stupid stats, which are meaningless instead of going with common sense, like the best 2nd Baseman to ever put on a uniform telling you matter-of-factly that "a great defense, not a good defense, will change how a pitcher pitches and encourage him to be more efficient with his pitches and not try to strike guys out", and that "a Catcher can take 100% of the blame for calling bad pitches and that leads to runs scored".

When I said 100% of REDSZONE posters, that obviously includes myself, or don't you know what 100% means?

Scary thing it that it's the end of the order that is giving BA a headache tonight. Needs to wriggle again.
