They were in on multiple 7 figure guys. It isn't because of the money already being spent.

I assume there have been no announcements of major news on the international front? Seems like word would have started trickling in by now.

The Mariners signed three top international prospects, including Dominican outfielder Phillips Castillo, according to Ben Badler of Baseball America. Castillo will get a $2.2MM bonus, Colombian right-hander Jose Torres gets an $851K bonus and Venezuelan third baseman Yordyn Calderon gets a $477K bonus.

Badler describes Castillo as “one of the elite hitters” on the international market. The 16-year-old stands 6’2” and can hit for power. Torres is considered the top Colombian pitching prospect of the year and Calderon is “a good athlete who can hit for power.” Overall, the Mariners committed just over $3.5MM to the three prospects.

Was there ever any word of any impact signings or did they decide to take a year off?

From Baseball America - Reds Agree To Terms With Dominican Shortstop Olivel Florentino

    Signed for $250,000

Florentino was not among the 40 Dominican players who had to register with MLB prior to July 2, so his contract will not become official until MLB completes its investigation into his age and identity. Florentino, who at 16 is 6-foot-1, 155 pounds, is an offensive-oriented righthanded hitter.

Outstanding moniker, probably worth $75,000 itself.

No such thing as an 8-day roadie in the Interstellar League. I don't care which division you're in.
