Unfortunately for him and Utecht, the TEs' in this offense are to: 1. Block 2. Block 3. Block 4. Block 5. Receive 6. Block 7. Block etc.

Can Bratkowski & Marvin adjust to having a receiving TE?

Someone has to block, the O-line sure wasn't last year. The game definately changes when you have a Carson Palmer manning it instead of Ryan Fitzpatrick. Just like the running game opens up the passing game, the passing game opens up the running game. Take one of them away, and you aren't going anywhere. The lack of a passing game sure took its toll on the offense last year. Thats one reason I'm definately optomistic that this year's team getting back into the playoff hunt.

Hopefully TE this year isn't like LB a couple of years ago where as soon as you lined up with a number in the 50s you came down with some dehabilitating injury.

Now, apparently, Ben Utecht got knocked out and carted off the field.

I saw this report a couple minutes ago:

After laying motionless on the field for about 12 minutes, Bengals TE Ben Utecht was whisked away by an ambulance.

Utecht with a concussion. I guess all things considered, that's probably the best possible news.

Coats sprained his ankle as well. Marvin may want to tell Coffman to take the day off.

Looks like Blackstock took him out on an awkward upper body shot. Hopefully Hines Ward gets in on that action this season.

Sounds like the Bengals would be better off in the Run and Shoot. No TE.

Please don't just sign some TE who barely played last year or some UFA....... go with experience on this one. You cannot have all rookies manning the TE spot.

They already re-signed Matt Sherry, the 6th round pick last year, who was on the injured list all last season and whom they cut a few weeks ago.
