Odd. You'd think that if he didn't make the Dayton roster out of spring training, they'd have placed him in Billings. Instead, they put him in Dayton anyway (after a few games with Sarasota), and he appears to be one of the Dragons' better hitters. I wonder if they thought he needed an adjustment that required the extended stay. If that's the case, the adjustment seems, at first blush, to have been successful.

I suppose this could be another factor: Coming out of spring training, the Reds seemed really geeked about Humberto Sosa. When the Dayton season started, he was hitting cleanup and playing a lot of first base (I believe). In that case, maybe they felt that Konstanty would be better served in extended spring than sitting on the Dayton bench. Now Sosa's back in Billings . . .
